Why I'm Building This

When we moved from Chicago to Spain, my daughter Elyse went from being the kid who never stopped talking to the kid who didn't speak at all.

She'd come home and say, "I understood everything today, Mama. But I couldn't say anything back." That broke me.

I tried every app, every tutor, every after-school program. Nothing addressed the real problem: she didn't need more vocabulary. She needed a friend who understood what she was going through.
